We are pleased to announce the rebranding of our organization from the CRTG Working Group to Next Wave, The International Center for Children and Global Security. This transformation represents a pivotal moment in our organization’s evolution and reflects our expanded role and growing impact in addressing the complex issues surrounding children and violent extremism.
Since our founding in 2019, we have remained dedicated to providing a unique platform for addressing the involvement of children in terrorism and extremism. Initially conceived as a forum for civil society engagement at United Nations level, our work quickly evolved to meet the global demand for a dedicated institution focused on the protection and future of children affected by extremism. In 2020, we became the world’s first organization of its kind, committed to tackling the recruitment and radicalization of children at a global scale. Today, with our new identity, we continue to expand our reach and refine our approach to addressing this critical issue.
Our Mission
Our mission is to disrupt the recruitment and radicalization pipeline, and create a future in which children do not become the architects of the next wave of violence. We achieve this through innovative approaches, strategic advisory services, targeted programs, and cutting-edge research. As extremists continue to exploit children for their agendas, it is imperative that our responses remain proactive, evolving in both scope and complexity to counter this ever-growing threat.
The Challenge
The face of extremism is shifting, with younger individuals increasingly targeted for recruitment and radicalization. The advantages of exploiting children are too significant for these actors to abandon, making our work even more critical as we adapt to these changing dynamics.
With the launch of Next Wave, we reaffirm our position as the only institution globally that, with the necessary scope, focus, and strategic depth, addresses the recruitment and radicalization of children - an core pillar in driving extremist activity, capacity, and continuity.
Moving Forward
This rebranding is not simply a change of name but a reflection of our ongoing growth and the continuing urgency of our mission. We are proud of the work we have accomplished thus far, and we look forward to continuing to lead efforts to end the terrorist cycle and ensure children´s safety.
